| From Mar 21,2005 to Mar 24,2005,in the city of Shenzhen, The First China International Press Photo Contest was held to the world successfully by Photojournalism Society of China .So far the first international press photo contest which was organized by China─CHIPP has been born. The holding of CHIPP is the large event for Chinese press photography society. It also stands for the trend of the international news media's development .CHIPP has built the bridge between the Chinese Press Photography and the International Press Photography. It will attract the best photographers of the world to attend .It will show the best photos of the international press photography. It will report the newest trends of the foreland of the international press photography's development. It has provided the new platform for Chinese and International photographers to study each other, which will make Chinese and International press photography make great progress. Because CHIPP was born not long ago, there are not people to do the research about CHIPP abroad; although in China in some newspapers some articles about CHIPP have been published there are still not people to study CHIPP from aspects such as the social reason of CHIPP ,its cultural reason and cultural meaning and so on. In view of the special role of CHIPP and its particular effect, doing research about CHIPP will help Chinese photographers to know more about the difference about Chinese press photography and international photography, learn more about the international professional standards and cultural opinions of the international press photography and know better about the developing trend of the international press photography, which are the important points of my thesis. Doing the research about CHIPP is to sum up the good experience of CHIPP in time. My thesis has been written on the base of some material which I have and some practical experience of mine, using the ways such as Journalism, Communication, Photography and Sociology and so on .The thesis mainly discuss the social origin of CHIPP, the professional reasons of CHIPP and the developing trends of CHIPP and so on. There are five parts in my thesis, including the introduction of CHIPP, the interpretation of the origin of CHIPP, studying about the criterion of CHIPP, seeing into the difference between the Chinese and Hesperian press photography and the revelation of CHIPP. I hope by writing this thesis I can summarize the advanced experience of the international press photography, which can provide Chinese photographers with the reference to know better about the international press photography.
