In music education, taking the national music inheritance and development has become the world music education to develop an irresistible tidal current, how to widespread complete the national music culture inheritance, to enable the outstanding national music culture to inherit and develop in the young people, the ordinary school music education should bear the brunt. Our country multitudinous national minority area ordinary school music education should clear reveal this local, nationality's music culture characteristic with effort, but in the faraway national minority areas, national characteristic music teaching because some kinds of factor influence its implementation development is very difficulty. This article according to supervisor the national education science "Fifth" plan the Ministry of Education key topic to carry on the experiment work, carrying on the investigation and study to the Chongqing Yoyang area's Tujia and Miao national minority Autonomous County music education in the foundation, carrying on the track to investigate and practice Yoyang and Xiushan national characteristic music teaching, taking the local nationality folk music to explore teaching experimental study which carries on in two places as the main object of study, try to find out a road which suits the national minority area the national characteristic music teaching. In the topic research process, we discovered the national characteristic teaching experiment not only needs music teacher's participation, but the local education administration department, the school leader, the social strength and so on, various aspects participation is smoothly indispensable. According reality, author mainly obtaining four main point: First, strives for the education all levels of leadership support, completes various schools topic implementation plan; Second, encourage the teacher to develop the local music resources, seeps the national characteristic in the classroom instruction; Third, according to the school actual situation, act the nationality music activities; Fourth, analyze the school reality, organic synthesis society nationality music activities. In more than a year experiment process although has also obtained some results, but simultaneously also has some insufficiencies. The author on the foundation of analysis insufficient proposed some improvement countermeasures and suggests to its later period: First, use each way to raise teacher's comprehensive level; Second, take more strengthens investment to the Yoyang nationality medium normal school; Third, advocate the comprehensive music teaching by the folk song teaching; Fifth, initiates the open style teaching which the school, the family, the society unity and so on. Hoped these suggestions can further urge the national characteristic music teaching experiment to develop effectively, lead the local music education the whole development.
