Aesthetic Pleasure From Horror Mirror

Horror film is a type of popular film which stimulates the human emotions directly. And it is a kind of protection of the box office. However, facing the increasing trend of the horror film, few literary aesthetics researchers focus on it. A kind of totally different reaction between the passionate horror film creation and reception and limited research on it is emerging.Depending on the previous research, and avoiding the traditional research methods of the type film, the thesis focus on the horror film from aesthetic culture perspective. From the perspective of life itself, the first chapter illustrates the horror film could satisfy the living needs of human beings. And furthermore, it analyzes the similarities and differences between the life in horror film and in the realities. And it shows horror films play how important role in the modern art system. The second chapter is mainly about the Aesthetic generation problem. And this chapter has mainly analyzed the process that audience's frightened emotion changing into esthetically happiness. The third chapter analyzes the esthetic value of the horror movie by using esthetic theories. There are three methods which could purse horror effect. Firstly, by death, violence and the monsters have manifested powerful development of the horror films to the human biology life; Secondly, through showing the dark aspects of human characteristic, the anxious emotion in the deep heart and non-sensational world of the human beings, has manifested the horror films'depth concern with human spiritual life. Thirdly, through the technical civilization,family ethics and social rules'concern, has manifested the horror films'rethink of social culture. In the forth chapter, problems including aesthetics weariness and the degree of horror are analyzed.The thesis elaborates the horror film by using reception esthetic theories, psychological theories, film and television engineering and Life aesthetic,expecting to solve the esthetic production difficulties, and to get profound understanding of the horror move from the perspective of aesthetics and psychology.
