The Research On Synonyms In Guanzi

The relationship of synonyms is a special kind of paradigmatic relationship. The member of paradigmatic of synonym in different time and different literature presents different appearance. The paradigmatic of synonym in specific ancient Chinese literature reflected the cognition and thought of specific time. The member of paradigmatic of synonym in specific ancient Chinese literature and the relationship between them showed the vocabulary features of the specific time which the specific ancient Chinese literature had been written.I found the synonyms in each chapter of"Guanzi"by observing the text of"Guanzi"and referring to the exegesisses of ancient literature and books about exegetics at the same time. Then I differentiated the synonyms and found the pragmatic features of the synonyms.The paper consists of five sections:Introductiong: I introduced simply about"Guanzi"and the research situation carries on to"Guanzi". And I also discuss the basic problem of research on the synonyms of ancient Chinese, including the concept of synonym, the method of deciding and differentiating the synonyms.Chapter 1: I showed all the synonyms in"Guanzi"and counted the groups of noun synonyms, the groups of verb synonyms and that of adjective synonyms in each chapter of"Guanzi". I also calculated the total of groups in each chapter of"Guanzi".Chapter 2: I put the member of each group of synonyms which had the same sememe together. Then I showed the proofs that they had the same sememe and found the differences between them.Chapter 3: finding the way that show the relationship of synonyms in each chapter of"Guanzi"and how the differences between the synonyms manifest. I found that there are six ways that show the relationship of synonyms in each chapter of"Guanzi"and the differences between the synonyms mainly manifest in the semantics, the grammar, the rhetoric, the pragmatics and so on.The paper has the following characteristics and value: 1. try the best show the member of each group of synonyms truly on the basis of the text of"Guanzi". 2. describing the relationship of synonyms completely on the basis of the true. 3. attempting to make use of the literature that can not be make sure that when had been written on the research of language. 4.some basic data that has been proved for the study of ancient Chinese synonyms and the history of Chinese vocabulary.
