Chorus teaching is an important part of music education. Being a significant part of chorus art, children's chorus is a major method to achieve the music education goals and is playing a more and more important part in cultivating a new generation of high qualities. In order to face the future and compare our country's music education with that of the world, music teaching should keep close watch on the new development trends of China and the world, draw lessons from the successful experiences in foreign music teaching and emphasize input and output. We should not only preserve our excellent music teaching tradition and experience but also adopt the useful things of foreign music teaching to train high quality talents suitable for modern society.Kodaly music teaching system is one of the most influential music teaching system in the world. It uses singing especially chorus as its main method to achieve its goal of popularizing music education. In terms of this, applying Kodaly Teaching Approach to children's chorus teaching will greatly promote the development of children's chorus teaching. It can be said that putting Kodaly Teaching Approach into use will open a brand new area for the stable development of children's chorus and will stimulate students' study ability, promote students' overall development and finally the aim of music teaching will be achieved.In terms of the teaching practice and theory research of children's chorus teaching, the theory investigation is still in its basic stage and the practice of putting Kodaly Teaching Approach into using hasn't been fully conducted. The present thesis tries to give a systematic explanation and analysis of how to apply Kodaly Teaching Approach to children's chorus teaching, based on which some useful suggestions are put forward concerning the children's chorus teaching practice. The whole thesis is divided into six parts including an introduction, a brief survey of Kodaly Teaching Approach, an analysis of the necessity and feasibility of using Kodaly Teaching Approach in children's chorus teaching, the concrete application and methods of Kodaly Teaching Approach, the development prospect of Kodaly Teaching Approach and it's requirements for the music teaches in children's chorus teaching and training.Part one is an introduction which mainly expounds the influences of Kodaly Teaching Approach in the world music education and analyses the application of Kodaly Teaching Approach, the contents of using Kodaly music system in children's chorus teaching.Part two is a general survey of Kodaly teaching system which chiefly introduces the life story and achievements of Kodaly, teaching concepts of Kodaly music teaching, the main characteristics of Kodaly Teaching Approach and its basic teaching methods.Part three is an analysis of the necessity and feasibility of applying Kodaly Teaching Approach to children's chorus teaching. This part first analyses the functions and values of children's chorus teaching and points out two necessities and four feasibilities of conducting Kodaly Teaching Approach in children's chorus teaching.Part four mainly expounds the concrete application of Kodaly Teaching Approach in children's chorus teaching, which is demonstrated from three sides, namely: 1. The application of Kodaly Teaching Approach in training students' reading staff. 2. The application of Kodaly Teaching Approach in training students' rhythm. 3. The application of Kodaly Teaching Approach in developing students' hearing sense and tone accurance.Part five chiefly introduces the application of Kodaly Teaching Approach in training students' chorus, which is expounded from three respects, that is: 1. Conducting chorus practice in the form of Ka Nong. 2. Assisting chorus training by Curwen gestures. 3. Singing numerous chorus work without accompanied music.Part six expounds the requirements of Kodaly Teaching Approach for music teachers in children's chorus teaching and training. It first elaborates the obstacles and countermeasures of popularizing Kodaly Teaching Approach in China and then points out how to develop music teaching by effectively applying Kodaly Teaching Approach in our country, and at last analyses the requirements of Kodaly Teaching Approach for music teachers in children's chorus teaching and training.
