Verdi is a master composer in the development of opera all over the world. La Traviata is a famous masterpiece, which is known as La Dame aux camelias in English written by Dumas. It is one of the most frequently-performed opera in the worldwide for its undoubtedly excellence. The artists focus on La Traviata with great passion. Some artists may be unbearable with Schonberg's or Stravinsky's music, but will never put prejudice on La Traviata. It is the world's forever La Traviata.With the instruction of my supervisor, I once have learned many opera aria like Rigoletto,Aida, La Traviata and Othello. I have got revelation from the information, video version and music.I chose the music of Verdi's La Traviata as my research. I formed the construction in the process of collecting materials and practicing related aria.After the year 1919, western culture has aroused the great interest in the intellectual. The Chinese version of La Dame aux camelias, written by Dumas, spread widely in China. Li Shutong has popularized Japanese and European operas with the concept of advanced culture and the character of La Traviata performed by him has been a marvelous part in the history. People began to love La Dame aux camelias by Dumas, whose father was the creator of the Count of Monte-Cristo. Meanwhile, the anecdote prototype of Violetta has become a research program in literary world.In order to master the musical image of Violetta, the tragedy person in the society, the first part of the essay introduces the original version of Dumas'. Part Two makes a brief analysis on Verdi's conception of art in order to show how operas get ideas from literature to form typical art pattern. Part Three focuses on the music arrangement of operas and the characteristic of persons. Part Four commentates on the whole style of the opera of Verdi. Part Five elaborates my feelings on handling the singing of three main characters: Violetta, Alfredo and Armand.Different singers have different understandings and performances of the same piece of music. The essay is mainly about my past learning experience without further explanation. It is a typical research program that could be a long-term and detail one. Welcome for your correction.
