From Radical To Normal

The changes of "Chinese Avant-garde" Novels have taken place since the end of the 20th Century. However, those days were still regarded as the important period of "Chinese Avant-garde" rest and adjustment. After a few years, The "Avant-garde writers" have been publishing their new books in the new century, which were all long storys that aimed at meeting various needs; But more important, their creations on values and techniques have changed a lot, giving up rebelling and exploring. They returned to normal writing, beginning with approving conventional culture and meeting the development of time. Therefore it is regarded as the second period of creative eruption. Their creations are worth focusing because they still play an important role in Contemporary Literature. There are many reasons that their works should be paid more attention to and the people want to know how they inspire hope and enthusiasm for Contemporary Literature.During the past, "Chinese Avant-garde" rebelled mainly against tradition or authority in three aspects, such as narrative technique,language experiment and survival consciousness. After returning to mainstream, the changes also have taken place in those aspects.The thesis consists of three parts:The first part: Depending on contexts, the analysis of "Chinese Avant-garde" writers' creative attitude and life consciousness shows clear changes of thoughts and values, which alters subject-matter and narrative way ,and so on: from edging rebellion to central consciousness; from holding pioneer banner to controlling the words power.The second part: Depending on contexts, it shows the changes of "Chinese Avant-garde" techniques in recent years by analyzing specifically: from form experiment to normal narrative; from radical survival consciousness to everyday logic.The third part: This section discussed the cooperation between the media and these writers who has quite an effect on Contemporary Literature strongly, and the influence on their works. The reason why it was put in a separate chapter because it was different from the front two chapters which discussed about literature itself, however, and it was still an attempt which conformed to the time law of development.
