Sensation seeking, as a personality trait, first advanced by American psychologist Zuckerman. It is defined by the seeking of varied, novel, complex, and intense sensation and experiences, and the willingness to take physical, social, legal, and financial risks for the sake of such experience. Foreign researchers have comprehensively explored the personnality trait of sensation seeking , and discovered that it is associated with risk-taking behavior, and it is a good predictor of human activities and mental health. Senior high school students' peer relationship not only has influence on their sensation seeking , but also has very close relation to their mental health. As a result, this thesis aims to carry out the research on the relationship between sensation seeking , peer relationship and mental health of senior high school students of Liaocheng, considering peer relatioship, sensation seeking as predictors of students' mental health and high-risk behavior.In respect that it incarnates a trend of seeking stimulate and adventure, sensation seeking may anticipate that the factor of sex, urban or rural, only child and age has an effect on it, this study explored the demographic variable effect on students of Liaocheng, such as sex, grade and school, using Chinese version sensation seeking scale for children and adolescent based on our cultural background.The results showed that:(1) The sensation seeking traits of senior high school students of Liaocheng are basically the same as those of foreign countries. The sensation seeking of boys is higher than that of girls. And the level of sensation seeking of students increases with ages.(2) The sensation seeking and peer relationship are two important predictive indexes of the mental health in senior high scool students of Liaocheng.(3) Scores on subscales of sensation seeking in the students correlated with those on mental health. But no evidence showed correlation between total sensation seeking and mental health.(4)After analysis of multiple regression, sensation seeking of senior high school students didn't play a mediate role in the relevance between their peer relationship and mental health.
