Interpersonal communication is an important part of individual survival and development.Everyone hopes to be good at communication and establish a good interpersonal relationship through communication.However,due to family,society,school,self and other reasons,interpersonal communication has become a puzzle and problem for many senior high school students.At the same time,interpersonal communication plays an increasingly prominent role in the mental health and development of senior high school students.Once having interpersonal trouble,they are likely to suffer from psychological unbalance,which brings about psychological problems.Therefore,improving high school students' interpersonal skills is of great significance to their mental health development.The purpose of this study is to understand the current situation and relationship of high school students' interpersonal competence and mental health,and to explore how to improve the interpersonal competence of senior high school students so as to improve their mental health.This study is divided into two parts: the first part is designed to investigate and analyze the status of the high school students' mental health level and interpersonal skills;the second part verifies the effectiveness of targeted group counseling,through targeted group counseling to improve the interpersonal skills of senior high school students,so as to improve their mental health level.In the first study,550 high school students from a city in Hebei province were selected as subjects to carry out a questionnaire,among which 528 questionnaires were valid.The second study used experimental group,placebo group and control group.Through the results of study one,a part of people were selected for interview,and 30 people were finally identified as the experimental group,30 people as the placebo group,and another 30 people as the control group,and all of them were selected as the subjects of this study.The experimental group was given eight group counseling interventions for interpersonal skills,and the placebo group was given a group counseling intervention unrelated to the study topic.The control group received no treatment.The results were as follows:(1)Generally speaking,the mental health status of senior high school students is just at the average level,and the obsessive-compulsive symptoms and interpersonal sensitivity score are the highest.There are some differences in grade,gender,only child and whether students live in school or not;(2)Senior high school students have poor interpersonal skills and great behavioral disturbance in social activities and making friends.There are some differences in grade,gender,origin,only child and class cadre;(3)There is a significant positive correlation between senior high school students' interpersonal skills and their mental health.Interpersonal competence has a positive prediction effect on mental health;(4)Group counseling aimed at improving interpersonal skills can effectively improve the interpersonal skills of senior high school students and improve their mental health.
