From Superfluous Men To New Men

Ivan S Turgenev is a famous realistic Russian writer in the nineteenth century . In his long span of forty years' writing career , he demonstrated vividly the social life of Russia which tranformed from Serfdom to Capitalism in a keen and impressive tone , in addition , it also portrayed many characters with deep emotion . This paper analyzes specifically the characters of Superfluous Men and New Men who appeared in Turgenev' novels . In the first chapter , the article narrates that Turgenev is the prophet of age .The second chapter illustrates special figures, that is Superfluous Men and their fates appeared in Routine and The Familyof Aristocrat . In the last chapter of the paper , it depicts specifically New Men's personalities appeared in On the Eve and Father And Son .
