Four Aspects Of "Aphasia"

Aphasia in narrow sense refers to a disorder of communication caused by brain damage. In this paper, the meaning of"aphasia"is actually the phenomenon people cannot express themselves and communicate with others in the normal way of words, and the author make a general survey of all the literary and art works that have close relationships with"aphasia". All of them are divided into 4 groups: the group which"aphasia"exists as the leading character's trait, the group which"aphasia"exists as the plot, the group which"aphasia"exists as a style and the group which"aphasia"exists as rhetoric. When elaborating every accurate work, the author who believes that"we cannot not communicate"regard every phenomenon of"aphasia"as a phenomenon of message transferring and the author makes great efforts searching the message behind these phenomena——the message about feelings, thought custom, outlook on life, and culture. This paper insists that the attention paid to"aphasia"will not only enable us to get better understanding of this kind of works but also of the world and other human beings, moreover, by paying attention to and making analysis of"aphasia", the author wants to attract the reader's attention to"abnormal language", which consist of"aphasia"and"the slip in speech", which has already been researched by Freud, and other known or unknown elements. The author also hopes some day in future there may even be an"Abnormal Linguistics", this is actually also the meaning of this paper's title indeed.
