Gabriel Faure,the earliest participants of national philharmonic,is one of the most influential and representative composer in melodie.He created more than 100 opuses in his life,including vocal suites such as "La Bonne Chanson".Faure's Vocal suite "La Bonne chanson" is the creation of the interim representative works,and this is bigger peak representative of Faure's composition techniques.The predecessor of French art songs are Romance,which from the 18th century and the first half of the 19th century.It has the impact of great research value.In addition,the "Parnassian" and "symbolisme" poet's works,they have great influence for the innovation of French art songs.The early composer of French art song,almost all use these works.The vocal suite ,is from the lyrics of the same title of Verlaine's poems.And the french poet Verlaine,is one of the owners in symbolic poetry.Thus the background of French literary in 19th century,in particular the "Parnassian" and "symbolisme" is one of the focuses of this thesis.This thesis analyzes the structure of Faure's vocal suite from harmony,tonality,piano accompaniment texture,interval and sounds aspects.Also,based on my singing experience and combined with Faure's creative features,this thesis conducts the research about the libretto language processing,rhythm management,breath handling and tonepreparing,then summarizes the creative style and feature of Gabriel Faure.
