ABSTRACT:Gabriel Faure is not only the most influential and most representative composers of melodies in France in early19th century to the20th century, but also one of the earliest participants in the national Association of music. In the60years of his writing career, he wrote more than100melodies. Vocal Divertimento La bonne chanson op.61is the creation of an interim representative works, and it is also an iconic Faure pinnacle. Lyrics of La bonne chanson op.61is taken from the poetry named Verlaine, which is also the name of one of the commanding general of French Symbolist poetry. Symbolist poets impacted a lot on the development of French art songs. Therefore, the writer treats the influence that Symbolist poets brought to Faure creation as one of the focus of this paper.This article will make a brief introduction of Faure’s life and influence on Faure’s creation that brought by Symbolist poet; Through the analysis and study on the form and structures of Faure’s song cycle La bonne chanson op.61, including the relationship among color harmonies, special tone, the use of texture of the piano part and meaning, mood and rhythm, etc., from which to explore the correlation between music and poetry, in order to blend in as much as possible for the exact interpretations. For comparison of vocal and piano, and vocal, piano and string quintet version, on player’s angle, try to explore how to explain Faure’s creative intent and style is more accurate. Trying to make the interpretation of this work reaches to the highest artistic level.
