The Cultural Conflict And Tangible Solution: A Study On The Sino-Western Intercultural Marriage

With the acceleration of globalization intercultural marriage is becoming increasingly popular. For years continuing attention is paid to it for its unique characteristics and the intercultural marriage-related problems. It is believed that the intercultural marriage is one of the embodiments of intercultural communication, for which the theory can be applied to analyze and resolve the conflicts and problems in the intercultural marriage. Through case study this thesis aims to analyze the cultural factors influencing the Sino-Western intercultural marriage with intercultural theory as the basis. Furthermore, the different cultural approaches to the conflicts within the intercultural marriage are listed. The thesis concludes that the degree of acculturation is affecting the intercultural marriage happiness and proposes some suggestions in the end.
