The Linguistic Communicableness On The View Of Language Philosophy

Language is the main point under discussion in analytic philosophy of contemporary, most analytic philosophers are trying to explain the communicableness of language directly, but Ludwig Wittgenstein, an Austrian philosopher, was working at this problem in a different way. He invented a concept named private language while he is expatiating on his language-game theory, and he was trying to improve the publicity of language is reasonable with his private language argument which he invented. He conform his argument to the mode of analytic philosophers.This text started with the clarification of the concepts and methods which the private language argument concerned, and then trying to dig up the hidden precondition. The acknowledgement of the existence of private language would result in a conclusion that language communication is impossible. Thus the intention of Wittgenstein's demonstration is an effort to solve the problem of the self-centered predicament in language philosophy. But once the reasonability of private language is denied, it is at the same time denied the function that ostensive definition plays in confirming the signify relationship between language and objects. Therefore, the relationship between language and objects is presented before language philosophers. Historically, the philosophers raised such theories as description theory and its signified theory in an attempt to clarify the relationship between language and its signified objects. But no common idea was reached because of the respective imperfect theories. After the comparison of the different basic definition that adopted by several philosophers in solving this problem, the thesis studies on the reasonability of the signified theory and get the meaning of language concept, and then research the communicableness of language by establishing the language concept which is comprehended correctly as the object of study.The researching of linguistic communicableness started with the making an elaboration and clarification on the related definition in the private language argument. After clarifying the construction of Private Language Argument, the thesis makes an attempt to disclose the intension and conclusion in this argument process. Author makes a study while he reaches a conclusion on the argumentation of the issue on which philosophers have made deep-level discussion in history that disclosed by this argument, and explains his own generalization and conclusion of the essence of the language on the basis of an understanding of precursors.
