On The Reservation And Development Of Qingdao Zhongshan Road Historic District

Historic districts, being the city's carrier for its history and culture, reflecting the city's historic and cultural continuity and development, are important cultural resources. But the inevitable fact is that the preservation of historic districts in our country is still a quite new subject. So the relevant departments of our government are not very familiar with this concept. What's more, they have some misunderstanding about it. Therefore, preservation work of the historic districts is not being well done in our country.Qingdao Zhongshan Road is a finest example which can present the traditional construction style and the accumulation of historic culture in the old urban area of Qingdao. However, in recent years some historic buildings on Zhongshan Road have been destroyed along with the urban reconstruction sound owing to the different points of view about the preservation of the historic buildings and districts, which makes the preservation of historic districts more difficult. Therefore, this thesis attempts to take the modern urban development theory as the instruction; base urban construction on humanism and scientific development, foresight instead of short sight for quick success and immediate benefit; take all-round consideration of the entire city construction plan, the ecology landscape plan and the regional economic development plan; pay more attention to the promotion of the city's cultural content, the molding of the city's cultural image, unite the demonstration analysis and the case research to forward the proof to the preservation and development of Qingdao Zhongshan Road, to propose the idea and project for the preservation and development of Zhongshan Road for the purpose of trying hard to find an effective way for the preservation and development of the historic districts in process of modern urban development and for leaving less regret behind to our later generations. The paper is mainly divided into six parts:The first part mainly introduces the historic district concept, the present situation and the development tendency of historic district preservation both at home and abroad. Toward that end the author tries to propose the practical significance of preserving Qingdao Zhongshan Road.
