Laoqida Yanjie and Piaotongshi Yanjie both are the refined versions of the Chinese learning text books of great value.We can see the original spoken Chinese in the beginning Ming Dynasty. The language has the characteristics which link the preceding with the following.The massive language material of Laoqida Yanjie and Piaotongshi Yanjie may enable us to understand the language actual utilization of that time,also may let us perceive some rules of the neoteric Chinese transition to the modern Chinese gradually.This research selects interrogative sentences in Laoqida Yanjie and Piaotongshi Yanjie.With the qualitative and quota analysis methods,we analyze the characteristics of different types of the interrogative sentence from grammar,semantics and pragmatics angels.In some chapters and sections,we also analyze from the Synchronic and the Diachronic angels.We divide the interrogative sentences into two sorts,interrogative sentence with doubt and without doubt. According to the degree of doubt,interrogative sentence with doubt can be divided into the conjuncture interrogative sentence and the enquiring interrogative sentence.And the interrogative sentence without doubt can be divided into the presuppositional interrogative sentence and rhetorical sentence.Chapters 1,preface.In this chapter,we discuss the object of the research,the present researching situation,the meaning of the study,as well as the frame of the research in four sections. In section one,we introduce the value,the language,the versions of Laoqida and Piaotongshi.In section two,we introduce the status of the research about the two books.In section three,we point the meaning of the research.In section four,we introduce the frame of this thesis briefly,including the researching methods,the varieties of the interrogative sentences and the writing route of this thesis.Chapters 2,the interrogative sentence with doubt.In this chapter we introduce two sorts of interrogative sentence with doubt,the conjuncture interrogative sentence and the inquiring interrogative sentence.In section one,we discuss the conjuncture interrogative sentence.The degree of doubt is between believing and doubting,exerting the adverb to show the tone of guessing.There are three conjuncture adverbs,like Gan,Mo,Pa.In section two,we divide the inquiring sentence into four sorts:yes-or-no question,positive-negative question,alternative question and specific interrogative sentence.Yes-or-no question can be divided into the tone yes-or-no question and signal yes-or-no question.There are two sorts of positive-negative question,(VP) f(VP) and(S-P) f. According to whether using Shi and if there's questionable words in the last option,alternative question can be divided into three sorts,Specific interrogative question can be divided into seven sorts according to semantics,enquiring person,thing,status,position,cause,quantity and time.Chapters 3,the interrogative sentence without doubt.In section one,we introduce the presuppositional interrogative sentence.Because the two books are written in the dialogue style, there're just three presuppositional sentences.In section two,we discuss the rhetorical question.The rhetorical sentence is a kind of appreciation,namely,a kind of subjective desire like sensation, attitude or opinion of speakers,and expresses the opposite meaning in contrast to the language form. In Laoqida Yanjie and Piaotongshi Yanjie,the rhetorical sentence can be classified further on the basis of their syntactic features or semantic features,yes-or-no question,positive-negative question, alternative question and specific interrogative sentence.The yes-or-no rhetorical sentence can be divided into two sorts,with signal and without signal.The sort without signal can be judged by the context.Signals are the rhetorical adverbs,like Qi,Nandao.There's just one positive-negative rhetorical sentence with the pattern VP-Bude? There's one alternative rhetorical sentence in each book with the pattern that there's questionable pronouns in the last option.The specific rhetorical sentence includes Zen series,Shen series,Na series,He series,Shei series and Ji series questionable pronouns.At last,we concluded the pragmatic meaning of the rhetorical sentence,including emphasis,blame,disproving,judgment,reminding.Chapters 4,conclusion.In this chapter,we conclude the interrogative sentence of Laoqida Yanjie and Piaotongshi Yanjie.There're two sections,the interrogative sentence with and without doubt.We also compare it with the interrogative sentence system of Modern Chinese.
