The interrogative sentence is a kind of sentence based on pragmatic features of a sentence,or the interrogative sentence is a kind of sentence based on pragmatic purposes of a sentence.There are three kinds of interrogative sentences according to the study of Mr Lv Shu-xiang:the inquiring interrogative sentence, the conjuncture interrogative sentence and the rhetorical sentence in this thesis .And they can be classified further in the basis of their syntactic features or semantic features . Shuo Yuan is looked as a closed study object in this thesis , and the interrogative sentences are counted up, and the features of all kinds of interrogative sentences in Shuo Yuan are analyzed based on syntactic, semantic and pragmatic level.In the preface,we have introducted Shuo Yuan and the study of it. In section one,we have discussed the study of interrogative sentence and classfication of the interrogative sentences.In section two , we discuss the inquiring sentence.we divide the inquiring sentence into four sorts: specific interrogative sentence, yes-or-no sentence, alternative sentence and the positive-negative sentence.The specific interrogative sentences consist of nine sorts used interrogative words such as HE,SHUI,SHU,AN,XI,HE,WU,YAN,HU.The yes-or-no sentences consist of two sorts:one is marked,another is intoned. The alternative sentences consist of two sorts:one has the horrizion,another have items to choose .The positive-negative sentences consist of three sorts:"VP not","VP not", and"have…have not…".In section three,we discuss the rhetorical sentence.There are three forms of the rhetorical sentences in ShuoYuan:specific interrogative sentence, yes-or-no sentence, and alternative sentence.The rhetorical sentences in specific interrogative sentence form consist of these used words such as HE,AN,XI,WU,SHU,HU,YAN,SHUI, HE and HE.The yes-or-no sentences consist of these sentences used the words of rhetorical adverbs (such as QI,QI,NING,DU and YONG),negative words (such as FEI,BU and WU) ,auxiliary words (such as KE,GAN and NENG),conjunction KUANG or other forms.The alternative sentence in ShuoYuan has only once.In section four,we discuss the conjuncture interrogative sentences.In these sentences,they include eight conjuncture words: WUNAI,WUNAI,DAI,DEWU,DEW EI,YI and QI,ETC.In section five,we discuss the modal particles ended in interrogative sentences.There are eleven modal particles used only in this version.They are HU,YE,YU,YE,ZAI,YAN,FU,ZHU,WEI and ZHE ,etc.And, there are five modal particles used together such as HUZAI,YEZAI,YIZAI,YIHU and WEIHU in this version.In section six,we summarize this thesis .
