Under the background of the unification of the world economy, international communication is getting closer and closer, and competition is more and more fierce. In order to be more favorable in the competition we must master well English, hence higher requirements are proposed for English teaching. As vocational colleges shoulder the responsibility to cultivate persons with practical ability practical communicative proficiency is specially emphasized. In 2000 "Based Requirements in English Teaching for Vocational Colleges" clearly put forward the objective that teaching should be practical and give prominence to cultivating communicative ability. However the fact is that after many years of English learning students still have very poor listening and speaking ability which can not meet the need of future work. So how to improve the students of the vocational colleges is put in front of English practitioners.There are five parts in this dissertation, each both independent and connective. The first part is about the reason of the question, the tliought and method to study, concepts explanation and relevant theoretical basis. The second part deals with how to summarize the documents. In the third part there is a questionnaire and analysis has been made. As the most important part of the dissertation, Part Four first proposes the key to the problem is the Voice Teaching Methods, then introduces the characteristics and the process of the practice and exploration in CQUST, finally comments each methods. In the last part the effect is checked through experiment and interview.By the practice and exploration of the Voice Teaching Methods we find that students have made rapid progress in enthusiasm, go-aheadism, habit, communicative ability and integrated ability.
