Yunnan dense-color painting, which derives from Yunnan local cultural context, is an art style of strong race implication. It takes every advantage of modern painting color, art media and ethical art elements so as to form a visual aesthetic feeling combined with sculpt, color and texture. Thus it demonstrates a typical art attraction in aspects of line, color and theme. The previous researches on Yunnan dense-color painting mainly focus on introduction to individual painters rather than penetrating into the unitary artistry. Yunnan dense-color painting, based on traditional Chinese realistic painting and folk art, takes full advantage of modern painting color and new media. Therefore, it combines both Chinese traditional and western modern features so as to have affluent composition, rich color, concordant texture and tuneful lines. Among Beijing Heavy-layer Painting, Tibetan Heavy-layer Painting and Tokyo Heavy-layer Painting, etc. Yunnan dense-color painting is unique with its vivid ethical style. This dissertation aims to explore the development of Yunnan dense-color painting by analyzing its artistic features.。This research first compares artistic features of Yunnan dense-color painting; then analyzes its status with questionnaire, at last raise some proposals of the development of Yunnan dense-color painting. The contents are as following:Chapter One: Introduction .The selection, aim and significance of the theme.Chapter Two: The Background of Yunnan dense-color painting's Formation. Summing up the time setting, influence of regional environment, artistic setting and self-feature of Formation.Chapter Three: Analyses of the formal expression of Yunnan dense-color painting. The analyses are from the perspective of color, formation, line, texture, embodiment and abstract, from which a conclusion of the formal expression of Yunnan dense-color painting can be drawn.Chapter Four: Analysis of"vulgar"misunderstanding in aesthetic way.Chapter Five: The status investigation of Yunnan dense-color painting. The questionnaire is designed in the following aspects: cognitive degree and channel, acceptant degree of Yunnan dense-color painting and its formal expression. Analyze the challenges of Yunnan dense-color painting from the data.Chapter Six: Reflection on the status of Yunnan dense-color painting. The reflection can be divided into two parts: the objective part focuses on the influential factors of the development of Yunnan dense-color painting; while the subjective part is to propose some methods of its development.
