The Translation Theories And Methods Applied In Business English Translation

With the opening up policy and China's successfully joining the WTO, modern business English translation plays an increasingly important role in the international markets. Those who learn English well sometimes fail to master business English and its translation. There are currently many scholars concentrating on the translation theories for business English. The author in this thesis, guided by the conclusions of the previous experts and using lots of examples from business English, discusses the features and translation methods of business English. Thus it provides guidance for both translators and relevant learners so as to attract more attention to business English and its translation.The whole thesis, guided by Nida's functional equivalence, Grice's Cooperative Principle and Leech's Politeness Principle, mainly explores the features and business English translation methods and also pays a lot of attention to the translation of vague language in the business English.There are five chapters in the thesis. The first chapter is the introduction which gives the general information of business English; the second chapter deals with the theoretical framework; the third chapter develops into the features from the aspects of language features and stylistic features; the forth chapter as the main body of the thesis moves into the translation principles and methods; and the last chapter focuses on the vague language translation in business English.
