Language is the conveyor of a culture, and is the main display form and mechanism of communication. When reviewing the components of a language, compared to phonetics and grammar, vocabulary carries significantly more cultural meanings. Vocabulary is substantially affected and restricted by all forms of cultural factors. These include factors such as history, living environment, religion, customs and habits, values and personal preferences, which all influence the way that cultural words are formed.Cultural Words mean words that belong to a specific cultural scope, which are reflected, directly or indirectly, in the language. Cultural words not only carry specific cultural information, but are imbedded with deeper national cultural meanings. All kinds of cultural formation and cultural meanings of different nations can be found in Cultural words. The deep meaning of Culture words can only be truly presented in the comparison o1411f vocabulary between the target language and mother language of specific learners.This study investigates Chinese Cultural-loaded Words and Non-equivalence Words as the contextual framework, based on the theories of Lexicology, Comparative Linguistics, Cultural Linguistics and Cross-cultural Communication. English-speaking Chinese learners are used as the research objects via questionnaires and qualitative analysis. This investigation seeks to find out the importance of cultural factors in the TCSL from the macro view, as well as a comparison of Cultural words between Chinese and English from a micro perspective, Intrinsic in this investigation is an aim to analyze the general characteristics and main problems for English-speaking Chinese learners.The results show that cultural attachment to a learner's mother language plays an important role and negatively impacts the transfer understanding and study of Chinese Cultural words. This impact is present through all phrases of learning process.Base on these findings, strategies and methods for teaching Culture words are addressed from 4 perspectives: Emphasizing the comparison between Chinese and foreign languages; how to teacher Culture words in the classroom; Culture words translation in textbooks; and the importance of Cross-cultural awareness. This study provides some suggestions for teaching Culture words and can serve as a Vocabulary reference for TCSL.
