An Investigation On Entries, Definitions & Illustrations Of Colloquial Dictionary Of TCSL

There's plenty of colloquial expressions in Chinese like"牛","泡汤","真是的","爱X不X","说到哪里去了".Although they are informal,brief,casual and seem simple,but they are meaningful and have different meanings in different contexts which are familiar to Chinese but hard to understand for foreigners.Whereas we still don't have an appropriate colloquial dictionary for foreigners to learn colloquial words like these.Although《现代汉语常用口语词典》is a dictionary compiled for foreigners,but the entries are anachronic,and it's definitions and illustrations are not appropriate for foreigners.《口语习用语功能词典》is a dictionary not compiled for foreigners,but it's entries,definitions and illustrations are worthful for the reference of a new colloquial dictionary's compiling.So on the basement of comparing and studying of these two dictionaries,and combining some contemporary compiling theories of dictionaries for foreigners,we raise a few suggestions on colloquial dictionary of TCSL compiling in entries,definitions and illustrations.
