The development of media broadcasting has brought us new channels and new concepts of communication. "Interaction" has become the most popular catchword in the 21st century. The use of books, a traditional broadcasting tool, is now confronted with these new methods resulting from the modern technology. Despite the existence of the modern substitutes of books, books can not be completely replaced. However, people should start considering how they can effectively combine the advantages of both new media broadcasting and the traditional ways in order to enhance reading efficiency. It is extremely important to know if the traditional media methods also possess the characteristic of interaction."Interactive book design" has provided a new perspective of book design. People deem to view traditional books only as an information container, book designers therefore limited the design to the book's physical appearance. The aim of creating interactive books is to build a communication channel between readers and books. Information is not delivered one way to the readers but allowing readers to participate in the communication. It is innovative to merge the interactive concepts with the traditional media tools. In this way, books would hold more functions other than its reading quality. This article intends to explore on the researches of interactive design theory with some detailed case analysis in order to discover concrete designing methods and find an input channel for books.Totally about 45 thousand words, more than 50 illustrations.
