A Study On "Literature Aesthetics" In Recent 30 Years

The "literature aesthetics" is a Chinese-featured academic category with an extreme controversy in recent 30 years. Since 1980 Hu Jingzhi had tabled a proposal for establishing the "literature aesthetics", for which a large number of scholars did make arduous efforts. Many researchers hard-worked for 30 years and academically achieved some. The literature aesthetic, however, is still suspected only as a subject. During those years, literature aesthetics has been twisting with its discipline orientation, object researched and method related. Meanwhile, its sideline is quite ambiguous with literature science and aesthetics. Therefore, the existent rationality of "literature aesthetics" is still suspected, which is often used intangibly by scholars. Under the current research situation, this thesis focused on making it clear according to the diverse viewpoints, and then retrospect and introspect them.This thesis has three chapters and the conclusion. The chapter I summarized the reasons for derivation and development status of literature aesthetics. The emergence of literary aesthetics has its era reasons and internal theoretic reasons. During the special time of after the liberation, literature became a political appendage and loss its academic independence. The trend of ideological emancipation provided a spacious room for academia. Literary study returned to the aesthetic layers gradually, and gave birth to the literature aesthetics. The law of the Literary study, "from exterior to interior", is the intrinsic factor for its emergence. In addition, this chapter also interpreted the study status of literature aesthetics through its papers and books written in the recent 30 years.The chapter II analyzed the controversies of literature aesthetics in its conception, object and method researched. However the controversies of conception still have been existing. And it was mainly attached to other subjects. In the new century such studies tend have been changed. The mainstream is that literary aesthetics can be independent of the existence of other disciplines. The controversies of research object part analyzed the issue through several primary views and its English translation. At present, the main views are as following: Study the aesthetic experience of literature, the relationship between Art and the realistic aesthetic, the aesthetic characteristics and the aesthetic rules in the literature, the aesthetic characteristics and the aesthetic rules in the art and artistic action. The English translation of "literature aesthetics", moreover, is also controverted. We can also found the diversity in understanding for research object through the English translation. This thesis also expressed the bewilderment of research method of literature aesthetics in different views. We found they wanted to establish a compositive method system by absorbing and interigating the research method of all humanities and natural sciences.The chapter III interpreted the imbroglio of subject subordination of the literature aesthetics, and the gain and loss. In a sense, the imbroglio of disciplines subordination is an attached issue with literature science and aesthetics. This thesis expatiated on this issue from theoretical and practical study of discourse and then summed up the gains and losses. During the 30 years research, the epistemological pattern of literary theory and speculative mode of aesthetics were abandoned. The research which also turned to the specific literature from metaphysical essence of aesthetics and emphasized the literary works should be researched according to non-ideology's perspective. Meanwhile, literature aesthetics also deviated from the original mind of theory, which were casted it into confusion and brought over the generalization of research. In addition, when emphasizing the literature, the aesthetic perspective should be taken, and also the ideology of literature be ignored advisedly.According to above analyzed, this thesis hold that literature aesthetics not only is still far as an independent discipline, but there have been "suspended" phenomenon. Therefore it needs to be further researched.
