With our country opening to the outside world , the development of science and technology , the unceasing enhancement in the international world. We should link our education to the world to make the globalization of the talented person. So it is very important for students to learn English well and teachers to teach it well. It can make the students to know more information about the world and to go out to the world. To strengthen their employment competitive ability.Nowadays, The vocational education occupied half of higher education of our country. They more focus on the practical ability of the students to make more high quality,high inter-disciplinary talents. English education pays even more great attention to its practical utilization ability. But actually, there are some problems on English education in vocational school. Such as, there is no definite teaching goal, using the teaching materials of college, most of the English courses are copy from college. Only focus on grammar and foundation but not the practical use of English, their teaching methods are boring, the teachers'ability are relatively weaker than the teachers in college, their education is only for the exams, their teaching conditions are poor because of lacking money. Most of the students do not pay much attention to the English studying, because their English foundation are more poorer than the college students, their English level are low when they enter school, the teaching hour is limited, they think English has no relationship with their future job, so they have no interest and motivation in learning English. It is very essential to strengthen the English ability of our students, to comply with the trend of the times, to Enable the vocational school to adapt the economic development of our country, and make more technical , talented person to meet the needs of international market. This is also a long-term development for the vocational school, to improve the teaching quality of the it and graduate employment rate. So it is very important and necessary for the vocational school to improve the English ability of their students.There are four parts in the essay, the first part make a further explanation about the students'ability in vocational school. Including, the concept of ability , English ability, and teaching requests to the students from the vocational school. (mainly focus on teaching).The second part mainly talks about the students'main problems of learning English. Mainly from their learning foundation, independently learning consciousness, their ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing.The third part from the school, the teachers and students, these three aspects, study the reason why does the vocational school students English learning situation are so poor.The fourth part, from the school, the teachers and students, these three aspects, to talk about some concrete practical methods to improve English ability.This essay is mainly focus on the fourth part, the analysis and study of how could the vocational school students improve their English ability, making some suggestions on the reform of new English courses, the ability and the cultivation of the teachers in the new century. From all these aspects to make a research on how to improve the students'English ability in vocational school. The basic information of this essay is the present learning situation and wrong learning methods of the students. Further conclude some relative theories and problems of improving the students'English ability, analyze the present situation of teachers'ability and students'learning ability and propose some imperative teaching methods.
