The Study Of The Turkish Kemal Secularization Reform

Turkey has founded the modern nation-state through the national revolution, and through the Kemal reform, it created the Non-West's modernization pattern in the Islam world, so it is seemed as the democratic and model country in Middle East by the West. The domestic and foreign scholars thought that Turkish Kemal reform especially its sweeping secularization reform has built the solid foundation for its democratization and modernization. Why did the Kemal secularization reform get success in Turkey, why did its political system which Kemal founded can still has the stable legitimacy until now? Researching this program, it has model significance for most of the developed countries which hope to get success through the reform.Using the politic legitimacy theory, this paper analyzed the secularization aspects of the reform backgrond,process and influence, the paper divides into six parts. The introduction part introduced the selected topic significance of the paper,the domestic and foreign situation of study,the research approach, the core concept and theory explanation.Chapter one has analyzed the secularization reform historical background, thought that the legitimacy crisis of the Islamist regime has provided the necessity for the secularization reform. This chapter first analyzed the crisis of traditional Islamist regime from the institution and the ideology two aspects, then analysis the favoring from the aspect of the Islam belief crisis,the transformation crisis and the crisis of the first war.Chapter two has analyzed realistic premise of the secularization reform, thought that before the reform, the Kemal regime has got certain legitimacy resources, mainly including four aspects: the ideology,the ruling performance, the charisma and the negative legitimacy. These legitimacy resources are the occasion of the success of the secularization reform. It has provided the possibility for the successfully reform.Chapter three has analyzed the remolding process and the content in the secularization reform Mainly including the system standard and the value idea two aspects, thought that the purpose of remolding the base of the institution and the value is to establishment modern democratic regime in Turkey, this is the way and the direction of the reform, and it is the key of the successful reform.Chapter four has analyzed the double influence of the reform to the Turkish politics legitimacy. It thought that the positively affects lies in the reform establishing the cornerstone for Turkey's political modernization, the negative effects lies in the fault which in the reform existed for afterwards Turkey's Islam revival movement to leave behind the hidden danger, it was the experience and the lessons of the reform.The conclusion part makes a summary to the preamble analysis, Obtains several experiences and the lesson under the view of legitimacy theory, including holding the reform opportunity, accumulating valid resources, paying attention to valid resources restructuring, the reform way and the direction and the reform must according to the country national condition and so on .
