Study On Bentham's Utilitarianism

The utilitarianism,calls Eden doctrine,is that the whole world affects gigantic one ethics school and even in the west.Its germ can be traced back to ancient Greece Democritus and Epicurean Hedonism theory.Bentham was the founder of the theory functionalist campaign in the later half of 18^th century in England.The utilitarianism of Bentham collected the ethics thought,social system,and law system into one body, made its highest principle by "To Realize the Greatest Happiness of the Most Majority." Using this principle,they reformed the English society thoroughly,leading to the brilliance of rising period of capitalism,and made the Utilitarianism permeate through all fields.In tracing back his theoretical basis,the article gives an exposition of ideology of functionalist ethics and its computation and limitation.The first chapter is summed up for the document.It is introduces the research current situation that Bentham's Utilitarianism,and look up the present conditions of the research of Utilitarianism,and evaluate them.The second chapter is an introduction,introduces the basis for selection,purpose and significance studying,studying method and content mainly.Bentham as a turning point person in the history of western political philosophy,it is necessary to re-examine the Utilitarianism of Bentham for reference and inspiration.My thesis moved towards to excavate the beneficial enlightenment,announce to his defect.The third chapter introduces the theory foundation of Bentham utilitarianism, through the introduction of Hedonism,Empiricism,Materialism,Bentham's view is formed on the basis of the succession and criticism for them.The fourth chapter discusses the main thought that Bentham's utilitarianism observes mainly.Based on Bentham's utilitarianism of the core,we analysis of the context of their thinking.The fifth chapter is the main contribution of Bentham's utilitarianism.Through the legal system,ocial systems,economics and ethics of the Western development,we evaluate the utilitarianism of Bentham.The sixth chapter discusses the limitations of Bentham utilitarianism to make objective assessment.From the perspective of game theory,and utilitarianism in the individual rationality and collective analysis of the relationship between rationality,pointing out the limitations of utilitarian ethical thinking.The seventh chapter is the conclusion part,Chapter seven in light of current development of China's ethics,the ethics of Bentham utilitarian thinking of the development of China's legal system,and economic development of our inspiration.The eighth chapter is summing up the text for concluding remarks part,studying a conclusion mainly,and bringing forward the relevant problem.
