Interrogative sentence is an important part in the grammar system of teaching Chinese as a second language. When Thai students study Chinese, the mistakes resulted from the interference of native language are especially obvious. At first, this paper compares the constituent elements of interrogative sentence between Chinese and Thai by using the comparative analytic technique. Then, using the method of questionnaire and error analysis and percentage statistics,it researches and discusses errors from 108 Thai students when they are using Chinese interrogative sentence. The results show:â‘ Through comparison of the constituent elements of the interrogative sentence between Chinese and Thai,we can see with an exception that Chinese has the question mark but Thai hasn't,Chinese and Thai language share other constituent elements, but their usages are different.â‘¡Gender, ability of speaking the Chinese dialect, the grade students in,the length of studying Chinese are 4 background factors investigated in the questionnaire. Among them,Gender, ability of the Chinese dialect, the length of studying have influence in students' Chinese study, but the grade of students doesn't meet this criteria.â‘¢We can see from the result of the error analysis that question words and phrases, according to the high to low order of the rate of errors, are weishenme(why), duoshao(how many),zenme(how),na(which),shenme(what),zenmeyang(how), shenme shihou(when),duo(how),na li/nar(where),ji(how many),shui(who).â‘£According to the error statistics, all the word order items, according to the high to low order of the rate of errors, are double object, plural expression of the question words and phrases, adverbial modifier, preposition plus question words and phrases, complement, attribute, subject, single object, and predicate. At last, based on this investigation and research,we propose suggestions on teaching.
