The restrictions of Chinese teaching in vocational technology school in Thailand are fewer class hours and low intensity, aiming at only the basic Chinese oral ability in communication. This situation, which is common in Thailand vocational technology schools, asks for the alteration in teaching principles, teaching content and teaching methods in order to accommodate to the particularity of Chinese teaching in vocational schools. These changes must be made based on the Chinese teaching condition in these schools and the practical situation in students' Chinese learning there."Cast off characters, focus on listening and speaking",the unconventional teaching pattern in primary Chinese teaching, literally means casting off teaching of characters, while entirely using Pinyin to recognize to read and to speak.Combined with the task-based language teaching method,Chinese teaching here is conducted to improve the listening, speaking and oral communication ability. And this purpose is approached by weekly fulfillment of a specific task. We picked up two classes from grade two,PC-TECH technology school to carry on our teaching experiment.Through the final investigate paper and score of tests,we would prove this abnormal teaching approach is a successful one which is quite suitable for vocational technology school students. Finally we put forward suggestions in the field of teaching material, teachers, learners and task design on which still deserve to do more research.
