"Chinese craze" continues to heat up in the world.As one of the countries with the highest popularity in Chinese teaching,the number of learners in Thailand are increasing day by day,as well as the government has paid much attention to Chinese education.Chinese is becoming a major foreign language in Thailand.However,the Chinese teaching in Thailand,based on traditional teaching methods,has not achieved ideal teaching results.Therefore,the author hopes to find a teaching mode which is really suitable for the learning characteristics of Thailand students.Task-based teaching method is concentrated on learners.Its teaching mode is to train learners' language ability through a series of communicative tasks,which is in accordance with the teaching goal-using Chinese in the communication.As the foundation of the second-language teaching,the importance of words teaching is self-evident.Therefore,during the teaching practice,the author applied task-based teaching method for the teaching of Chinese vocabulary for Thais,and made primary Chinese learners as teaching objects who are from ANUBAN SARABURI School and MANDARIN EDUCATION Center.Combined with the observation of classroom situations and the results of questionnaire survey,the author analyzes the feasibility of task-based teaching method in Chinese teaching for Thais.The full paper is composed of six chapters.First,the introduction introduces the background of this thesis,the research status of task-based approach in the teaching of Chinese for Thais and vocabulary teaching,as well as the object,purpose and method of this thesis.The second part,the author pointed out that the current teaching is concentrated on boring traditional words teaching,mainly related to the teachers,as well as the learners'participation is not active.Through observation and analysis,the author finds that the task-based teaching model agrees with the Thailand learners in some ways.Points are as following:(1)The relaxed classroom environment provides a good operating platform for task-based teaching.(2)The lively and cheerful personality of Thailand learners ensure their enthusiasm for participating in tasks.(3)Task-based teaching can give full play to the advantages of Thailand students'practical ability.(4)The task-based teaching method can avoid the disadvantages of the traditional vocabulary teaching always used by Thailand teachers.The third chapter describes the implementation of task based on the vocabulary teaching,and the author follows the following principles:(1)The similar principle of tasks and reality;(2)The progressive difficulty principle of task;(3)"scaffolding" principle;(4)Pay attention to the "meaning" principle;Combining with the vocabulary teaching and Thailand students' characteristics,task type is determined,and the author expounds the specific case;The fourth part is some feedbacks about homework,test,questionnaire and other aspects,and the author analyzes the effect of task-based teaching method in the reality teaching,as well as puts forward the factors that influence the teaching effect:(1)the interest point of task design(2)the psychological factors of learners(3)cultural factors.The fifth chapter describes that some problems needed foreign learners and Chines teachers to pay attention.In the last part,the author summarizes the research,the experience and lessons of the task-based vocabulary teaching,hoping to give reference to the Chinese teaching later.
