Objective:Using experiment method to investigate the implicit self-esteem's stability and how the different degrees of implicit self-esteem influence the emotion. Methods:In this study, students in Suzhou University were selected as subjects, and their implicit self-esteem were measured by IAT while emotion were examined by PANAS. This study was comprised of two experiments. In experiment one,90 subjects were divided into three groups, one group was given success feedback, anther was given failure feedback while the third one was made as a control group to explore whether their implicit self-esteem differed in three conditions. In experiment two,how implicit self-esteem influences subjects' emotion facing different stimulus pictures or different feedback conditions was exploredResults:1.Implicit self-esteem did not differ significantly in different conditions. 2.When presented negative stimulus pictures or failure feedback, subjects showed increased negative emotion and decreased positive emotion.Low implicit self-esteem subjects showed the larger fluctuation in emotion. There was no significant difference between lower and higher implicit self-esteem subjects' emotion when presented positive stimulus pictures or success feedback.3.When given success feedback after failure feedback, compared to high implicit self-esteem subjects, low implicit self-esteem subjects' emotion level was harder to come back.Conclusion:1.Implicit self-esteem has some stability.2.Implicit self-esteem may influence the emotion as a filter.Relative to low implicit self-esteem,high implicit self-esteem person can filtrate more negative effects when suffering negative stimulus or feedback,so that the influence of negative effect on them was smaller.
