Objective In this research we should 1. Construction a Conceptual Model of Adolescents'Family Satisfaction 2. To develop the adolescent's family Satisfaction scale(AFSS)3. Test the reliability and validity of it.Methods Obtain the structure and items on the basis of an open structure questionnaire survey and literature review, and then 1253 middle school students were tested with AFSS to test the reliability and validity of the scale. Then through open decoding get the structure of AFSS, Construction a Conceptual Model of Adolescents'Family Satisfaction. We did comparison of family satisfaction recognitions on open questionnaire of educational psychological experts, clinical psychological experts, middle school teachers and middle school students'sentences by sentences, then found out the central theme of every sentence, and found a category for every theme. We carried out the test face to face at the first time. to know if all the items can be understood, and encouraged them to ask questions and wrote down related opinions and modified the items which were poorly concise, readable, acceptable, and deleted items with discrepant meanings and improper expression. We selected 230 students (junior 1 and 3, senior 1) from two middle schools in China to do small sample tests, and then we decided which questionnaires were useful according to reliability questions after deleted the ones with incomplete answers, we collected useful 214 questionnaires in all. Factor analyses were used to determine whether the underlying factors of a multivariate data set also reflect the underlying constructs of an assessment. We drew 1253 students to do Factor analysis to explore the factorial structure and do reliability and validity test. Results: 42 items and reflects three factors including communication and understanding of families, family circumstance, and the way of families fostering the child. The test-retest reliability ranged from 0.882 to 0.972,and the correlations between factors and the whole questionnaire ranged from0.899 to 0.906,which all met the criteria for adequacy of fit.All the factors had significantly positive correlations with the AFSS,and significant differences in family satisfaction were found between those whose parents have divorced and those whose parents haven't divorced. all of the scale score t=-4.951,p=0.000,factor 1:t=-2.445,p=0.017,factor 2:t=-6.510,p=0.000; Factor 3: t=-4.258, p=0.000. Life satisfaction scale of adolescent was made at the same time; Results showed that they had positive correlation. The correlation between adolescent students'life satisfaction scale and each factors of our scale was 0.461,0.730,0.568 respectively , p<0.01. After the scale was made, we test the reliability and Validity through the social statistics way. The result shows that all the scale score were3.721±0.724, the factor 1 got the lowest score which was 3.505±0.829, the factor 2 was 3.919±0.778, and the factor 3 was 3.779±0.760.The different sex got different score, but only the factor 2 has statistics different. The different school's students got different score and the important school got the highest score ,which were 192.906±11.490,the social students got the lowest score, which were 141.651±15.031,all of the different has statistics means expect the general high school and the social school. The students who get a high score in general seemed got a high score in this scale. p>0.05,but there is no statistics mean between all of them. The adolescents who have got a lower score in this scale than the general adolescents (t=-2.754,p=0.013).Conclusion: The AFSS is a reliable and valid scale for assessing the family satisfaction of adolescents.
