This paper aims at the Badang Drum dance which is popular among Tibetan and Han nationality in Zhuo ni county and Min county of Gansu province. The dance accompanied by music of these two counties are described, filed, compared and analyzed with the field study in this essay. On the base of this, it analyzes the general characteristics of this kind dance and explains its culture changes and cultural icons.This paper includes the introduction and other four chapters.The introduction summarizes the Badang Drum dance, sums up certain results of the research of the dance accompanied by music, and presents the foundation of this paper and to elaborate the research approaches.Chapter one describes the Badang Drum dance of Zhuo county and Min county respectively. Differently, this part describes the patterns of the dance accompanied by music in the point of its related background, general situation and its process.Chapter two studies the Badang Drum dance of Zhuo county and Min county by comparing them. In this part, their cultural background, the group mind, the process and patterns of the dance accompanied by music are compared and analyzed. Finally, it reached a conclusion that these two regional dances have the same origin which was typically created by ancestors of Tibetan nationality. After experiencing a long history and social changes, this kind dance spread among these two nationalities and gradually blended into their own nationality separately, then t different regional patterns are presented later.Chapter three analyzes the origin, characteristics and functions of Badang Drum dance. Also, it analyzes the researching opinions about the origin of the dance accompanied by music and made a conclusion that this dance formed by merging the specific of Qiang and Tibetan nationality in a given period. In order to solve the problem of its belonging, we compared it with other compartments in Tibetan region and we thought that the dance accompanied by music belongs to the category of Zhuo dance. Also, this essay makes a general description of forms and styles of the dance accompanied by music and illustrate the four functions of it, meet and farewell, communication, education and entertainment.Chapter four unscrambles the culture in the Badang dance and analyzes the culture changes in the view of its dynamic procedure and cultural transmission. The unceasing inheritance and changes consequently form the movement trend of the dance accompanied by music. The relationship of these two regional dances is a kind of mutual transmission which needs a dynamical choice to elaborate the typical cultural symbols in the dance accompanied by music.
