On The Post Modernity Characteristics Of The Sitcom My Own Swordsman

Sitcom,though exotic, plays an important role on the TV programs in china. Chinese TV audience consistently displays great interest and enthusiasm in those sitcoms ranging from the earlier Ying Da's to the later Shang Jing's on military lives. Meanwhile, the theoretical study of sitcom develops gradually, though mainly taking the paragraphic form and being always episodes. The composer finds no monographs on Chinese sitcoms till now. My own swordsman, a Chinese sitcom in ancient costume, aggravates the crises of lacking systematic study on Chinese sitcom. This paper, regardless of the systematic study of sitcom, only focuses on the solely analysis of My own swordsman, thus explores into the innovation, weak points and orientation during the development process of sitcom. Bases on the context and the viewpoints of academic circle and audience, this paper tries hard to deepen its research within a limited scope. The paper consists of following three parts:Part one concerns about the preservation and subversion of Chinese sitcom. As a new model of martial program, My own swordsman subverts more than preserves the concept of rivers and lakes as well as errantry. It minimizes the violence and hatred while adopts love and wisdom into this body. In addition, My own swordsman devotes much effort to the genre of sitcom itself. This part has 2aspects, 1) the ironic description of the non-mainstreaming of the rivers and lakes and the mainstreaming of the theses; 2) the reform and correct of the genre itself.Part two analyzes the aesthetic characteristics of My own swordsman. My own swordsman adopts the traditional Chinese theme of martial stories, while takes a exotic form of sitcom. This mixed-up characteristics makes it complicated in aesthetic direction. In general, however, it reflects the contemporarily hot issue---post modernity. This part covers 4 fields, 1) the absurd technique; 2) the construction skills in deconstruction; 3) the construction of Verfremdung effect and 4) the parody and spoof techniques.The third part discusses the cultural meaning of My own swordsman. As far as culture is concerned, the show echoes the revelry and internet craze of public. It exerts great influence on the thinking and living of audience. This part consists of 3 components, 1) the revelry and thinking of public; 2) the wan tonic dialogues and 3) the play under network context.This paper covers the theme, aesthetic characteristics and cultural meaning of the play, and mentions plenty of the advantages of it. The paper also talks about the shortcomings within a certain limit.
