| Si Sheng Pian Hai was accomplished on the basic of Yu Pian of Guangyi version, after several-time adaptation. The number of characters is large, because the book collected all the characters the author met, and it had been consulted and quoted by most subsequent lexicons. Take Zhi Yin Pian, Pian Hai Lei Bian, Zi Hui, Zi Hui Bu for example. Therefore, it holds a crucial position in the history of lexicons. Zhi Yin Pian, based on Si Sheng Pian Hai, finished in Ming Dynasty. The text included more than 43,000 words (according to chapter sequence Zhang Fu). The deletion of Si Sheng Pian Hai has some Meaningless words and Sound form and meaning of the word contradictions exist. Meaningless words has received just more than 3,000 words. Based on these two special heritage character of the relationship between book, the paper replies on the guide of exegetics and textual criticism, makes a comparative study on the same part of the citations'definition from Zhi Yin Pian and Si Sheng Pian Hai.Firstly, by contrast, the paper finds that between the two dictionaries'interpretation there are eight areas differences, such as how many and whether definitions exist. Then based on the feature of Zhi Yin Pian. Pointed out the reasons why the differences between the two dictionaries'definitions, from the aspects of compile and private copies. At last, the paper presents that two dictionaries' final interpretation of the value of comparative study, which could be concluded as follow:Firstly, it did correct some mistakes in Si Sheng Pian Hai, and Zhi Yin Pian.So reduce the negative influence in the history of lexicons. Secondly, Zhi Yin Pian quoted Pian, Yun widely on interpretation, Thirdly, works from three respects of interpretation, phonetic annotation, and relationships communication of characters of Zhi Yin Pian had influence pro and con in the history of lexicons, for which, Zhi Yin Pian should receive much attention of academic circles, and be studied on both value and limitations.
