The Study On Lei Pian In Si Sheng Pian Hai

Si Sheng Pian Hai(《四声篇海》)is a wordbook complied by Han Xiaoyan and his son Han Daozhao of Jin dynasty on the basis of the previous wordbooks.It not only inherit the previous wordbooks such as Yu Pian(《玉篇》),Lei Pian(《类篇》)and Long Kan Shou Jing(《龙龛手镜》),but also provide a very important evidence for the future compilation of wordbooks such as Pian Hai Lei Bian(《篇海类编》),Zi Hui(《字汇》)and Han Yu Da Zi Dian(《汉语大字典》).It is an indispensable part in the history of Chinese wordbooks and its influence and value can not be ignored.As a wordbook of the largest number of Chinese characters in ancient China(about more than 55,000), The characters mainly come from the ten wordbooks such as Yu Pian,Long Kan Shou Jing and Lei Pian etc. Among them, Lei Pian is an official wordbook of Chinese characters in the Song dynasty. As an official wordbook,the content of Si Sheng Pian Hai which quoted from Lei Pian should be keep consistent with contemporary Lei Pian edition, whereas these two books have huge difference,which provides an chance for the further research of the thesis. Therefore, based on the previous research results, this thesis carried out a series of researches on the data of Si Sheng Pian Hai which quote from Lei Pian.The thesis can be divided into six chapters. Chapter one introduces the background information of Si Sheng Pian Hai and Lei Pian, as well as the research significance, value, methods and procedures. Chapter two will focus on the materials about Si Sheng Pian Hai which quote from Lei Pian,At the same time, it will analyze the expression pattern of quotation. Chapter three and chapter four classify the materials which cite from Lei Pian. Specifically speaking, chapter three will take the inconsistent form which quoted from Lei Pian as research object,and contrast and analyze these content from grapheme, pronunciation and meaning. Chapter four will focus on the materials about the consistent form in Si Sheng Pian Hai which cited from Lei Pian. This chapter will start from the Si Sheng Pian Hai sound article cited from Lei Pian on later dictionaries.Chapter five will emphasis on the influence to the future edition of wordbooks,then analyze its positive and negative effects.The last chapter will make textual criticisms and explanations for some difficult Chinese characters in Si Sheng Pian Hai which cited from Lei Pian.Through the study of the material, the research shows that Si Sheng Pian Hai with that of Lei Pian keep inconsistent with Lei Pian.On the other hand,The author also makes textual criticisms and explanation to some difficult characters,which aims at laying a solid foundation for further study. What’s more,the research also discovers some defect and errors in Si Sheng Pian Hai and Lei Pian.
