The Spread Of Islam In NingXia And Its Influence On The Local Muslim's Lifestyle

With dialectical and historical materialism as the guide, combined with the Chinese Communist Party's national policies and theories, lined with the spread of Islam in Ningxia and its effects on the life style of the Hui Nationality, this paper discusses the spread and development of the Islam culture in Ningxia region. Through discussing the associated parts between Ningxia Hui nationality's life style and the Islamic religious system, it also tries to analyze the effects of the Islam culture on the Hui nationality's life customs in Ningxia.This paper includes four parts. The first chapter discusses the significance of the subject its research situation in the academic circle,the starting point of the paper and its main research contents,the research methods and the related materials.The second chapter introduces the general situation of the Hui nationality in Ningxia, and discusses the spread of the Islam in Ningxia region. The Silk Road is the main way of the spread of Islam in Ningxia. Different dynasties' polices have different influences on the spread of Islam in Ningxia region. Review of the spread of Islam in Ningxia region helps to understand the origin of the Hui nationality's religious culture and its evolution track in Ningxia.The third chapter analyzes the effects of Islam on the Hui nationality's life customs in Ningxia from such five aspects as the language, food custom, costumes, marriage and funerals.The fourth chapter summarizes the paper. The author believes that Islam greatly determines the Hui nationality's life habits,customs and ethical standards in Ningxia. The geographical position and historical background helps the spread of Islam in Ningxia area and promotes the formation of the Ningxia Hui nationality's ethnic community. Islam has distinctive influences on the Ningxia Hui nationality's common language and the common psychological quality based on the common nationality cultural characteristics.
