Language is the tool of thinking and the vehicle of culture. According to the researchers of World Englishes, the wide use of English on the international stage, and its frequent contact with various cultures and ideologies will definitely make it play an important role in intercultural communication contexts with multicultural identities. As a kind of reasonable and undeniable objective existence, China English (CE) is an inevitable result of the long contact and gradual integration of English language with Chinese culture, as well as a developing'performance variety'of English. Being different from Chinglish, China English has Normative English as its core, with no unacceptable grammar errors, but has its unique Chinese features in aspects of pronunciation, lexicons, syntax and discourse, etc., reflecting the unique things, culture and thinking mode of Chinese, and at the same time, it represents the cultural identity of Chinese people, in favor of making China open to the world, and known to the world, and in favor of intercultural communication.Through a quantitative analysis of two comparative pairs of the speeches delivered by the top leaders'of China and America in English edition, this thesis has come to the following conclusion: the average sentence length in CE is no shorter than that of AE, but, with more paratactic components, the former tends to use far more simple sentences than the later does, and the internal structure of complex sentences of the former is simpler than that of the later. This should be related to the'hypo-taxis– Para-taxis'difference between English language and Chinese language, and it reflects the distinctions between the analytical thinking mode of English nation and the holistic thinking mode of Chinese people as well. Besides, the Chinese-Western culture difference has also been demonstrated by the comparison of the top leaders'speeches of the two countries in the appellations, ending words, and language styles (solemn or humorous), etc.China English needs to be further studied through a much wider collection of materials, analyzed from more comprehensive perspectives, and on the solider theoretical bases. Only in this way can it be more widely accepted, more effective in enhancing intercultural communication, and meanwhile, be more instructive in the learning, teaching and application of English in China. It is hoped that the findings in this study could provoke more interests in China English and provide some insights for the further study of it.
