As a localized variety of English with Chinese characteristics, China English is the product of the internationalization of English as a world language. Different from Chinglish, which is the result of the Chinese people's English learning under the negative influence of Chinese, China English is a variety of English reflecting the unique patterns of Chinese thinking and Chinese values, with its own phonetic, grammatical and pragmatic features and functions. The present paper aims to provide reasons for the objective reality of China English as a variety, from the perspectives of the relationship between language and culture, World Englishes Theory and Identity Negotiation Theory. The relationship between language and culture proves China English as a natural result of the combination of English with Chinese culture when it is used in China more and more extensively. While World Englishes Theory provides the outer reason for the existence of China English as an objective reality, Identity Negotiation Theory expounds China English as a response to the inner need of the Chinese people for their culture identity when they communicate in English with those from different cultural backgrounds. Finally, the study on China English is of great significance to the study of not only linguistics but also applied linguistics.
