US-Japan relations and US-POK relations play a very important role in History of International Relations in Northeast Asia. In particular, from 1945 to 1953, the United States and Japan, Korea relations are in special times. Japan and Korea became the partners in Asia and followers of Implementation of great power policy of America in Asia. The United States plays a role in Northeast Asia and affects the situation in the region through Japan and Korea. US-Japan, US-ROK alliance is the performance of this special relationship. It has a great impact on the Northeast Asia and Asia-Pacific region after the alliance.Since World Warâ…¡, U.S. policy on Japan has undergone several major changes, from friends to enemies, from partners to competitors. These changes arose because of the great changes of strategic situation in Asia and the world, including the situation in China and the change of Sino-US relations. After World Warâ…¡, U.S. separate occupation policy was launched in Japan. In order to counter the Soviet Union, U.S. policy towards Japan has changed since 1947. Until 1951, the policy completed the process from the constraints, weakening to support and using. Japan turned into the strategic partner of the United States. "San Francisco Peace Treaty" and" US-Japan Security Treaty "mark a formal alliance between the two countries. The policy on Korea was different from Japan in the beginning as U. S had no sense of its global strategy of the Korean Peninsula. The formulation of policies on the Korean peninsula was mostly from the U. S. national conditions, combined with the domestic environment. Because of the outbreak of the Korean War, the United States enhanced the understanding of the strategic position of Korea. So the policy on Korea changed, and eventually signed the US-ROK "Mutual Defense Treaty".The alliances of US-Japan and US-ROK were formed in the 1950s, from the United States against the Soviet Union needs. They were the product of the Cold War, and served the U. S. global strategy. In addition to the background and time of forming, they also had two common points at reasons of forming. On one hand, for the part of America, it was to compete agsinst Soviet Union and consolidate its strategic position at Fareast area. So for the Fareast strategic realistic need, America chose Japan and Korean. On the other hand, for the part of Japan and Korean, both Shigeru Yoshida Regime and Syngman Rhee Regime were active to American diplomacy strategy, Which had played an important part for the allianceThere were three differences in the foming of US-Japan Alliance and US-ROK Alliance:The first one was the differences of American attitude to Japan and Korea;in the second place, the aims of alliance of Japan and Korean with America were different; The last one was Japan and Korean played different roles in American fareast. This common and characteristic from the beginning of the formation of the alliance has a great effect on the relations between U. S, Japan, and Korea. The alliance between U. S-Japan and US-ROK play a role in the United States Cold War confrontation with the Soviet Union and has influence in Northeast Asia security mechanism.
