Towards Thailand To Develop A Country-Specific Word List For Teaching Chinese As A Foreign Language

This thesis based on the nature of foreign language teaching objectives and survival needs, advocates a new conception of "country-specific" teaching Chinese as a foreign language. "Country-specific" is defined as "implementing different Chinese teaching curricula and methods for each individual country." Given the importance of vocabulary, cultural and the close nature with social life, by developing a word list for teaching Chinese as a foreign language in Thailand to instance the conception of "country-specific".To build the word list for Chinese language teaching in Thailand in this paper, we comprehensive the principles of quantitative and qualitative, chose seven China-Thai vocabulary corpus which have more authoritative and representative. Through statistical analysis, screening and other processes, we developed the word list for the initial stage of Chinese language teaching in Thailand. The entire word list development is based on the module construction method, in order to simplify the updated procedures and enhance the dynamic update capabilities of the word list. The study also designed a survey of "the features words of Thailand" in order to get the characteristics which with the vitality. The word list income of vocabulary 1063, including:1) The Chinese general words module (887 words); 2) Thai Chinese core term module (619 words); 3) Thailand features words module (44 words)."Country-specific" teaching Chinese as a foreign language and the dynamic updated and diversification for teaching word list, which is the ideas in this thesis to promote and advocate. This thesis as a specific practice for teaching and esearch of "country-specific" teaching Chinese as a foreign language, with a view to urther the teaching Chinese as a foreign language into the targeted education track, so that teaching Chinese as a foreign language would achieve substantial results.
