The background of global economy development and increased consumer demand prompted design increasingly seen as a powerful weapon in business competition, how to effectively coordinate, configure and integrate design resources is an important duty of design management. In our country, the strategic approach of "Transforming economic growth mode, adjusting industrial structure" made us know that how to develop design industries is becoming an important issue. Meanwhile, the rise of design creative industries will ask the quality of their intellectual groups, and then to detect intellectual talent supply efficiency of education and test if it meet the needs of the development of design industry. The fact is that the designers who educated by today's design education system can not match the changing and developing needs of social market on knowledge structure and abilities. After all, the reason is that different levels of China have biased cognitive about design and design management, which becomes a bottleneck of design innovation and raising international competitiveness for China. Therefore, we must vigorously promote design management education to spread the correct awareness of design innovation and design management, which can help easing the situation that designers educated by contemporary design education mode has a disconnect or "dating" relationship with the demand of business environment on knowledge structure and abilities. Research shows that besides knowing design, but those who have the abilities of design innovation, design communication, design research, design copy writing and design strategies making, etc are urgent needs for the enterprise. At the same time, these design management abilities are what the designers lack now.Based on the analysis above, this paper firstly discusses the subject theoretical background of the study, and then after a number of universities and corporations research abroad, four kinds of design management education modes are summed up, Then this paper analyzes the situation of our design management education at three levels of national strategy, socio-economic and collage education. Through the comparison of Chinese and western countries on design management education in chapter four, as well as the localization analysis of it, this article, at the view of strategic, presents the developing direction and several patterns of design management education which are based on the realities of China. This study aims at finding a way to solve contradiction of design talent's supply and demand from the source and help raising China's level of design innovation.
