Issues And Countermeasures Of Contemporary Chinese Kids' Movies: From Concept To Practice

As a form of art for children, kids'movies undertake the mission of guarding and enriching the spiritual home of kids. The Chinese kids'movies industry which is under the policies'protection and the financial support of government, creates nearly 20 works for children every year. However, very few works can meet with the children audience.In 1985, to rewarding the good works of kids movies and recognizing the outstanding achievements of the kids'movie creator, the Chinese kids movie Society sets up a special award–the "Kid's cattle". The annual awards ceremony are crowded, however, on the contrary, the kids movies' markets are deserted.For a long time, the creation ideas of Chinese kids'movies have fell behind, specifically reflected in such areas: lack of respect for children, ignoring the dominant position of children and the over enlightenment of children. What's more, there are many problems of the kids'movie creative practice, such as the adult-oriented ideas in the films' production and broadcast, the deficient kinds of the films, the single technique of expression, lack of market awareness and so on. These drawbacks brings huge difficulties to current development of Chinese kids'movies.However, Chinese kids'movies are born in the context of"children-oriented", which was promoting by the New Culture Movement. But due to the historical, war, social and many other causes, the creativity and production of kids'movies are deviated from the original intention farther and farther. This paper, which is under the vision of "children-oriented", explores the reality of the Chinese kids'movie, put forward the point of view that the film' production and dissemination should return to the concept of children standard, by analyzing the substance of the"children-oriented"concept as well as its value for kids'movies. I hope the paper can do the favor to the creation and dissemination of kids'movies.
