Children's emotion understanding is developing rapidly in preschool period, it was also in this stage, children gradually learning to interact with their peers. In recent years, children's emotion understanding and its social development becoming a hot issue in pre-school territory. Scholars both at home and abroad, mostly show some emotion pictures or to design some emotional stories for children, have achieved remarkable results. This study has reference to the predecessors search of children emotion understanding, and on this basis for further investigation of emotion understanding and its relation to peer interaction.We know peer interaction is an important aspect of children's social development, study emotional understanding and its relationship with peer interaction can help us promote children's social development from the angel of emotion understanding. This study selected two kindergartens in Beijing, were 111 3-5 year-old children. Carried out studies around emotion understanding and peer interaction. The study of emotional understanding select emotion recognition,emotion perspective taking and emotional expression rules; Peer interaction chooses Taiwan scholar's peer interaction questionnaire.This research concluded the following conclusions:(1) In general, 3-5 years old children's emotion understanding increase with age, the gender difference was significant, the girl's emotion understanding was superior to the boys.(2) Children's ability of emotion recognition was superior to than emotion naming.(3) 3 year-old children already have the ability of emotion perspective taking, but 5 years-old children still does not have emotional expression rules(4) Children of the four basic emotional understanding increases with age except happiness.(5) Emotion recognition is positive correlation with prosocial behavior, negative correlation with aggressive behavior and withdrawal behavior. And the emotion recognition can positively predict its prosocial behavior at some times, negative predict its aggressive behavior and its withdrawal behavior.
