To promote rural compulsory education reform and balance the development of regional education, rural schools across the country extensively have carried on adjustment of distribution.With most of the schools being removed and merged, and number of rural boarding-school students increasing, boarding schools in rural areas play a crucial role in focus on students' school distance, optimal management of rural education and improve teaching quality and efficiency, etc.However, some scholars opposed boarding school;many studies had showed that boarding schools negatively impacted mental health of boarding pupils.This research maked an investigation of the mental health status on rural boarding pupils,through comparing the similarities and differences on mental health status of boarding and non-boarding pupils, and analyzing the psychological influence that closed managementwith on boarding pupils in rural boarding school.And on this basis, combining psychological theory, the reseacher formulated relevant solutions to intervent the boarding pupils with mental disorders, in the hope of improving their psychological health level, to help them better adapt to boarding school life and study.Method:Questionnaire (MHRSP) was used to test mental health for 496 students of the boarding school in rural area in Li Liang. According to the results of the survey, drawing out two classes of the fifth grade as experimental group and control group.The gourp intervention goes on ten weeks.All data gained in this research are handled by soft wares of Spss 11. 5 for Windows.Conclusion:(1)15.58%of the boarding pupils in rural area exists mental disorders; 4.8%of the non-boarding pupils exists mental disorders.(2)The boarding pupils are significantly worse than the non-boarding pupils on mental health.The boarding pupils are significantly worse than the non-boarding pupils in the dimension of emotional disorders,social adaptation difficulties and behavior disorders.(3)The multiple linear regression analysis showed that social maladjustment is the biggest mental influence dimensions of the boarding pupils in rural area, followed by morality defects, emotional disorders, learning disabilities, character flaws and behavior disorders.(4)Boys of the boarding pupils are significantly worse than girls on mental health. Boys of the boarding pupils are significantly worse than girls in the dimension of morality defects and behavior disorders.(5)Among of the boarding pupils, fifth-grade and sixth-grade students are significantly worse than others on mental health. And in learning disabilities, junior and senior scored significantly higher; in emotional disorders and morality defects,junior scored significantly lowest,while in character flaws,social adaptation difficulties,bad habits and behavioral problems, senior scored significantly higher;in the special obstacles, third-grade and fourth-grade students scored significantly lower than fifth-grade and sixth-grade students.(6) The intervention effectively improves mental health and alleviates the symptoms of social adaptation difficulties for fifth-grade and sixth-grade students of the boarding pupils in rural area.(7)The effect of group counseling program in this study is obvious and is recognized by the participants.It is the value of a certain promotion.
