With the rapid development of higher vocational education, constantly updated electronic information as well as the diversification of compound talents, some reforming programs has been introduced in some aspects of English curriculum objectives, teaching requirements and the training mode in Vocational College Education, adding new blood to Vocational College English teaching and bringing new challenges and new issues to the College English educators. The urge problems and issues in College English course are how to make it meet the needs of times and the society, and how to make the non-English major graduates'skills of practical English satisfy the requirements of the market.For the current situation of teaching reform, this paper mainly discusses from the actual situation, via the author's studying the objectives of higher vocational education, reading and collecting related literatures, making surveys and comparative analysis, the course problems in Higher Vocational Education of English system still existing in its reforming process and therefore puts forward its countermeasures by analyzing the factors and obstacles that have made a great impact on English teaching quality and its talent training mode.How to improve students'English proficiency has always been the concern of all walks of life, which at the same time is a chronic problem. In the past, people have widely believed that the College English Teaching and Learning is largely due to classroom teaching model, teachers'teaching methods and students'learning interest. In order to stimulate students'interest and improve teaching and learning quality, teachers'make great efforts to carry out the reform of teaching mode and try new teaching methods, why can't we get to the satisfactory target? The author believes that the direct reasons of these problems are that we do not take our English teaching as a curriculum system:we always neglect the interrelation between the course objective, curriculum, the layout of teaching materials and the test form, especially few people pay close attention to the influence of the layout in the exercises and PRETCO on teaching quality. These four main aspects are discussed in this paper to reveal the difficulty in improving the quality of Vocational English teaching, and related solutions and suggestions are put forward to further the quality of Vocational English teaching, and enhance students practical application of the English language.
