At present, the research on the teaching Chinese as a foreign language become more specialized. The research on vocabulary teaching occupied position. Color words are important component of the language vocabulary system, the complexity and richness of the modern Chinese color words determines their importance in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. while the characteristics of the color words makes color words teaching have their particularities. This thesis is based on the dual positions of modern Chinese and teaching Chinese as a foreign language,put forward our views about the basic areas of the color words, their part of speech,the meaning of the color words. We use the general principles and laws of Chinese vocabulary acquisition apply to the teaching of color words. We make appropriate teaching strategies based on their characteristics. This thesis is intended to offer informative and practical recommendations to the teaching of color words,and seeks to achieve the purposes that using color words case as a basis to give implications for vocabulary teaching. The first part is the introduction, introducing the study of color words at home and abroad, the study of this topic,the significance of ideas and research methods. The first chapter is the research on color words in teaching Chinese as a foreign language from the perspective of cross-cultural communication, researching on the areas of color words in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, part of speech and the meaning items. Chapter II is the error analysis of color words in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, including the color words bias statistics in "HSK Dynamic Composition Corpus" and the questionnaire analysis of color words, analying types and causes of errors that appeared in the learning process of color words. Chapter III is the status of color words in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, including the requirements of color words in teaching Chinese as a foreign language curriculum, the presentation of color words in teaching materials, the current teaching methods, the effect of study. Chapter IV is to explore modes of the color words in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, including the theoretical basis of color words in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, the proposed arrangement of color words in teaching materials, teaching skills of color words. The final is conclusion.
