This paper analyzes mono-syllable tone of the dialects concerning young people in the urban areas between Changsha city and Zhuzhou city, representing the status and future trends with the theories and methods of experimental phonetics. It consists five chapters as follows:Chapter 1 is the introduction focusing the overview of the Chinese experimental research and the phonetic overview of Changsha and Zhuzhou. The first part is the purpose and significance of the paper, as well as the methods and steps applied in it.Chapter 2 summarizes the process of the tone experimental study and some theories concerning of it. This part is the theoretical part of the paper.Chapter 3 and 4 are the main bodies of the paper. Suggesting the second part is the theory, these two chapters would be the core of the practice under the guidance of theory.Chapter 3 studies mono-syllable tone of Changsha dialect with the experimental method. It describes the research status of Changsha dialect firstly, and then gives an outline of the research outcome of the tones of Changsha dialect. The experimental five tone-value of tones of Changsha dialect emerges from the study through experiments.We can find that yingpin 33, yangpin 13, shangsheng 42, yinqu 45, yangqu 21, rushing 24.Chapter 4 studies the tone-types and tone-values of urban dialect of Zhuzhou city with the experimental methods. Zhuzhou urban dialect is almost the same tone with Changsha dialect through the experimental study (yingpin 33, yangpin 13, shangsheng 42, yinqu 45, yangqu 21, rushing 24).Chapter 5 is the conclusion of the paper. On the basis of full investigations and finishing materials, the experimental results come out, and the main outcomes and shortcomings of the paper are concluded in this part.
