Acoustic Study Of Mono-syllable Tone In Yiyang And Yueyang Dialect

In recent years, Tone experimental studies been dominated from Putonghua to the Chinese dialect. And a large number range of dialects tone experiments have appeared.But there are no large-scale detailed and systematic experimental investigation for Hunan dialect. We work on Hunan dialect tone experimental studies, in which Yiyang and Yueyang dialect tone experimental studies is an integral part.In this paper, we use tone experimental method which is completely different from the traditional method " oral account but ear distinguish" to research into the mono-syllable tone system of a new breed of urban dialect of Yiyang and Yueyang area. Through the use of experimental and statistical methods,we take tone in experimental voice analysis,then construct mono-syllable tone of these two different dialect. At the same time, through comparative study of male and female voices, comparative study of experimental results and conclusions of the traditional dialect studies,we confirmed and modified the traditional tone system,and to make up for the deficiencies of traditional research methods, then to reveal the fact of these two dialects more sophisticatly and exactly.This paper consists of 5 parts:1.Introduction.It gaves a brief introduction about this subject, which includes the content and purpose,methods and measures and relative literature reviews.2.Tone experimental study discription. In this section,we described the methods and processes of this experimental detailly.3. Acoustic study of mono-syllable tone in Yiyang dialect. In this section, from pitch and duration of tone these two angles, we gived the datas of fundamental frequency and the length of the sound, through normalization, we derived word tune like this:yinping 34, yangping 13, Shangsheng 31, Qusheng 21,rusheng45. 4. Acoustic study of mono-syllable tone in Yuyang dialect. In this section, through acoustic studying of mono-syllable tone in Yuyang dialect,we derived word tune like this:yinping 33, yangping 13, Shangsheng 42, Yinqu 24, Yangqu 21,rusheng55.5. Conclusion. On the basis of investigating and arranging materials carefully, the experimental results have been come out. The conclutions are as follows:" oral account but ear distinguish " method is not sensitive in setting the tone of 1 degree. The only difference is 1 degree,this indicated that these two tones value belong to the same acoustic space,they are a tone value in the same tones of different tone-bit variants.
